PPI Automotive from German had unveiled their 580 bhp PPI Razor GTR which is based on the Audi R8 at the Top Marques Monaco 2009 . The GTR is a follow up model of the PPI R8 Razor which is featured at the Essen Motor Show in 2008.
Under-the-hood features an engineered supercharger to the Audi R8’s stock 4.2-liter V8 engine. In addition, a ram-charged sport air filter system and a high performance exhaust system made of stainless steel have been designed and added specifically to work in conjunction with the supercharger system. The result, after these modifications, is an output of 580HP at 7,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 6,200 rpm.
With all the boost produced by the supercharger, the PPI Razor GTR will sprint to 100 km/h in 3.7 second and the top speed of the car would be 332 km/h.
Everywhere else, the company used carbon fiber to achieve weight reduction, including the new front bumper and diffuser. Bigger air intakes can also be seen at the front, which also cools the brake system thanks to the channeling in the new hood. Custom sideskirts, and rear wing with adjustable flap, adds to the new look.
The PPI Razor GTR rolls on staggered 19- and 20-inch MAG9 Carbon Fiber aluminum wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubbers. Stopping power is provided by bright orange-painted six-piston calipers clamping down on enlarged 380×36mm front and 356×32mm rear vented rotors. A new coilover kit was specifically developed for the Razor GTR in conjunction with KW Automotive that’s equipped with a hydraulic lift system that allows for a 45mm lift in ground clearance; helpful for those nasty speed bumps in the parking lot of the Cars and Coffee meets.
As for the interior PPI had trimmed out the car in Onyx Nubuck leather with orange accent. As what we can see in a modern supercar, carbon fiber can be found all over the interior parts. Even the seats are made from carbon fiber.
