You would never think that an Aston Martin would need any sort of marketing push from a personality like Sir Stirling Moss, but to play around with our own words, up until recently, you would never think that Aston Martin would actually try to sell a hugely overpriced city car that’s a rebadged Toyota model...
Aston Martin will build only 150 units of the V12 Zagato. Priced at £330,000 ($530,000) each, the 2012 Limited Edition V12 Zagato is powered by the 6.0-liter V12 engine, producing 510bhp (380kW/ 517PS) and 570Nm (420lb ft) of torque. Production is expected to commence during the summer of 2012 at Aston Martin’s Gaydon facility in Warwickshire. First deliveries are expected in the second half of 2012.
It’s official; Aston Martin has not only confirmed plans to build a strictly limited number of the new V12 Zagato show car, but it is also accepting orders with first deliveries expected from the second half of 2012.
Prices, not including local taxes, start at £330,000 GBP, which comes to around US$528,000 or €369,000 at the current exchange rates.
Aston Martin and Parisian fashion house Colette has joined together to release the special edition Aston Martin Cygnet Colette. Priced at 48,995 EUR ($69,768), the luxury city car is limited to 14 units. The Aston Martin Cygnet Colette features stainless steel hand-formed and engraved door handle badges, a Thomas Fattorini hand-enameled boot badge branded with the fashion house’s logo and a branded satellite navigation system. The car also comes with quilted leather door and seat inserts, quilted Alcantara sun visors, and blue leather “occasional cushions” for the rear seats.
Here is a new commercial video of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. In case you didn’t know, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage is powered by a 6.0-liter engine that produces 510bhp and 570Nm of torque. Aston claims that the new V12 Vantage can accelerate from 0 to 62mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 190mph (305 km/h). To celebrate the start of production of its new Toyota iQ-based Cygnet city car, Aston Martin has announced two special launch edition models called White and Black.
Set to go on sale in April, both are offered with the iQ's 1.33-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 98HP, matched to either standard 6-speed manual gearbox or optional CVT automated transmission, and each will be produced for a strictly limited run.
The British automaker says the Cygnet with the manual gearbox completes the 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint in 11.6 seconds while returning an estimated combined fuel economy of 56.5 mpg UK, equal to 47 mpg US and 5.0 lt/100km.
The White edition is finished in Snow White paint with a mix of silver mesh, chrome brightwork and White Diamond turned alloy wheels. Inside, it features seats hand trimmed in Pearl white leather with perforated Alcantara inserts, complemented by satin chrome.
The opposite Black edition of the Cygnet comes with a Magic Black metallic paint with a specially developed deep sea green effect, offset by matt black louvers and chrome brightwork. The seats and dash are clad in pure black full grain leather, perforated in a specially-developed diamond pattern, while dark chrome accents adorn the cabin.
Both launch edition come with a bespoke and tailored made Bill Amberg five-piece luggage set in a combination of black leather with technical fabric, comprised of a glove box bag, removable door pocket bag, holdall, garment bag and a collapsible tote bag.
The new Cygnet goes on sale now through Aston Martin’s European dealership network, with the company stating that it is "actively working on expanding market availability by 2012".
Prices for Aston Martin's new entry-level model start from £30,995 (equal to US$49,600 and €36,700 at current exchange rates), or some £19,000 ($30,800 / €22,500) more than Toyota's iQ 1.33.

Aston Martin will revamp their DB9 and Vantage for 2013/2014. The facelift models will have the same dimensions, however they will boast a few cosmetic and fuel efficiency changes.
